   Abel is a painter, illustrator, builder, art director and maker. After 15 years of living and working in New York City, his studio is now based in Los Angeles, California. Macias’ playful work is rooted in handmade Mexican folk art and influenced by nature, landscapes and everyday objects.

   His stunning explorations of the distinct terrain of the High Desert reveal a closely observed, yet stylized vision. Rugged in form, yet refined in design, these images capture the allure of the Mojave.
